Business requiring these size systems usually pay $0.20-$0.30/kwh for daytime electricity.  Once they have installed a solar system they will be paying about $0.07-$0.08/kwh for daytime electricity.

This size system suits businesses such as Poultry Farms, Small-Medium Aged Care venues, large schools, car dealerships, medium retailers, and businesses with over 30 employees.

Systems up to 99.9kw qualify for the upfront discount of the Government Rebate known as STCs.  This is usually around 25%-30% of the total cost.  So, an important incentive whilst it is still available.

Approvals from Electricity network can usually be obtained within 4 weeks, as long as the switchboard is not so old or overloaded it requires upgrading.

Materials procurement occurs in this 4 week period and approvals and materials commence once the deposit payment is received.

Once installation starts, HCB will have the system installed in 2-4 weeks.

Finally, within a week of the system installed, if meter changeover is required by the Electrical network authority, this occurs about one week after installation, by a specialist contractor, and then the system is operational.

So all up your system will be operational in 7 weeks for a 30kw and 9 weeks for a 100kw system.

  1. You decide on a 39.9 kW system (140 x LG Electronic solar panels) and it costs you $77,805 out of pocket fully installed (after STC & excluding GST).
  2. Your business is in Newcastle where a 39.9 kW system produces on average 150.8 kWh per day. This assumes a north facing roof with no shade issues.

  1. You decide on a 99.75 kW system (350 x LG Electronic solar panels) and it costs you $184,515 out of pocket fully installed (after STC & excluding GST).
  2. Your business is in Newcastle where a 99.75 kW system produces on average 377 kWh per day. This assumes a north facing roof with no shade issues.
